Is the Moto Watchdog app free?
Yes. The app is included with every tracker and stays free for the life of the device — iOS, Android and the web dashboard. There is no paid tier, no trial that expires, and no feature held back for subscribers.
How often does the location update?
Roughly every 30 seconds while the vehicle is moving, and every few minutes when it's parked to save power. You can raise or lower that per device in the app's energy settings.
How many vehicles and users can I add?
Unlimited on both counts. One account can track a single car or fifty, and you can invite as many people as you like with owner, manager or view-only permissions. The price never changes.
Can I use the tracker without a phone?
Yes. The web dashboard gives you the full feature set in any modern browser — live map, trips, geofences, alerts and reports — with nothing to install.
Does the app read engine fault codes?
On OBD-II models, yes. Diagnostic trouble codes are decoded into plain English with what the code means, what typically causes it, and what to check first. You can log the repair against the vehicle when it's done.
Do I need an internet connection in the vehicle?
No. Each tracker has its own built-in cellular connection with the data already paid for in the purchase price — no phone tether, no hotspot, no SIM to buy.
Can I export my trip and mileage data?
Yes. Trip summaries, mileage by state for IFTA, idle time, speeding events and geofence activity all export to PDF or CSV, on demand or on a schedule.
